Hello! I'm Becky Romero, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Florida, offering compassionate and effective counseling services through telehealth and in-office sessions. With a decade of experience in the mental health field and recognition as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), I bring a wealth of expertise and dedication to my practice.

In June 2022, I embarked on the journey of private practice, seizing the opportunity to delve deeper into my passion for helping individuals navigate life's challenges. It has been an exhilarating experience, and I am thrilled to continue this journey by offering my knowledge and skill set to new clients seeking individual counseling.

Specializing in depression, anxiety, and trauma, I am committed to providing a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their emotions, heal from past wounds, and cultivate resilience. I am proud to announce that as of December 2023, I am officially an EMDR Certified therapist, further enhancing my ability to facilitate healing and transformation using a trauma-centered approach.

I believe in the power of therapy to bring about positive change in any individual willing to do the work, and I am dedicated to guiding my clients towards a path of self-discovery, growth, and well-being. Whether you're facing challenges or seeking personal growth, I am here to support you every step of the way. Together, let's embark on a journey towards healing and empowerment.

WHAT CAN CLIENTS EXPECT?

Each client can expect a safe and therapeutic environment that is free of judgement in a setting where you can be your most authentic self. Sometimes the trust between client and therapist comes automatic and other times it takes a few sessions to build. There is no right way, only the way that is the most comfortable for you.

During our first session, I will collect some history to get to know you better and we will both decide together on next steps as we formulate therapeutic goals we would like to accomplish. Our goals are not intended to be set in stone and we will adjust as we progress. Keep in mind that every person moves at a different pace and will encounter and overcome different barriers and that is okay. Healing is the goal and progress is not measured only in time. Progress can be measured by many things and even the small things count.

TREATMENT METHODS AND TOOLS UTILIZED

In working with me, I will not only help you learn tools to help you cope with your symptoms but also help you to get to the root cause and begin to eliminate symptoms altogether. I will guide you and empower you to work through any barriers you encounter using tools that include mindfulness, expressive and relaxation techniques, emotional freedom techniques, guided imagery, and other evidence-based techniques that may be suitable for you. I am an EMDR practitioner and can utilize my skills to help those struggling with past trauma. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. This type of therapy can be helpful in removing any anxiety, pain, or stress related to traumatic memories that are affecting the present.
